  • Link chasing a removed debt

Hi, I probably won’t be using the correct wording but I will try to explain as best as possible.

When I was 16/17 2 of my cards was used for fraud.
I was arrested as I went to the bank to withdraw money (lost card) and was subsequently arrested. Fast forward to bail date, charges were dropped as all the evidence gain had shown I had nothing to do with it.

the debt with the NatWest had been written off however a few years later while applying for a credit card I noticed the debt with co-op showed on my credit report as a default. I called them and explained what happened, they verified this and agreed it needed to be removed from my credit report, which was done and it no longer appears on there at all.

Coming up to 6 years later, I have just received a letter from Link chasing this ‘debt’

Am I correct in saying they shouldn’t be chasing this?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
