Tools gave me the idea of using the drum from my dead tumble dryer as a fire pit we've got some old scaffolding poles and chain we can use for a stand ... the scrap man is taking what's left over too

I buy second had electronics ( computers, tvs, etc ) regularly and fix them, more as a hobby really.

Why do ''low-income'' consumers buy furniture ( sofa's/beds etc ) from places like Brighthouse / DFS / Sofaworld
Because they haven't been taught the math properly and the advertising material is designed to be none informative and confusing,

Me, ( the dictator in me ) would put a legal limit on debt to income ratio in the UK, that anyone giving formal credit had to check. Credit is like gambling, from a addiction and choice point of view ( am fortunate not to be affected by iether )

My thrifting has always been a way of life even when we were very comfortable financially. What pees me off is I am still considered ‘irresponsible’ and unable to budget because I was unable to pay my debts due to a combination of illness and redundancy. The sort of people who think they are being ‘insulted’ if they are offered food that has been reduced think that we are idiots and unable to manage our finances!
Oh, and I inherited my car – Talk about dead man’s shoes! Yep, I have no shame.

I suppose ‘house broken’ will do! Mine needed a bit of upholstering and a rub with a damp cloth when he arrived but he seems to have come up nicely! I give him a belt with a hammer now and again to knock the woodworm out.
