Our experience of CAP isn't very happy. CAP refused to help us because we had the wrong post code. That was the reason - it never got beyond trying to book a meeting. They will only help people living inside certain post codes - where their centres are based - even though we offered to come to them. So we don't feel particularly well disposed towards CAP.

The problem being, all the debt councillors are volunteers.

How long ago was it? It is worthwhile checking back on their site periodically, as more cebntres get opened.

It's an unfortunate fact that it is impossible to help everyone with the resources they have, although more and more Church's are getting involved and receiving training.

However, if there is a centre running CAP money courses near you, if they identify peeps who would normally qualify for help at one of the main centres, they can refer back to the main office in Yorkshire, who can help.

All this takes cash though. As CAP do not charge for their services and are a charity, so the need for funding is paramount. And as always, every penny counts. Which is why I am publicising this. It costs folks nothing to go via the site to shop where they would normally, and CAP benefits.

A far better way of raising cash to help folks out of poverty than CAG's mental ad campaign directing folks to PayDay loans, scamming CMC's, and the like, IMVHO.

I know you're right Lugger. Its just that in our case we were desperate and with 3 small kids really put a lot of faith in CAP after reading the founder's book. Then we got bounced because we lived 5 miles outside of the right postcode. 'twas only 4 months ago. at fisrt they were unsure what to do with us - a few calls to fifferent CAP workers telling us we were on, then we weren't, then we were...and the final call saying sorry folks we don't do your town.sorry for the rant Lugger had it on me chest a long while about CAP

I considered something like that for here, affiliates to JLP, ARGOS etc, but we're fine on donations and subs at the mo. Much better ethically and much more controlable than those darn Google Ads. I don't know why CAG didn't look at affiliates before Google, or maybe they did.

You're angry because they did not help you? Were they somehow obligated to do so?
