    how long will a bailiff try to execute a warrant for non payment of a tv licience fine issued by magistrates before returning it to court as my daughter who is a single mother on benefits has been threatend by marsdens with forcible entry and to return with a locksmith.bailiffs will not accept terms the courts say speak to bailiffs we need to go back to court to tell them of her circumstances and to have fine taken out of benefits any advice will be most welcome as she is already on anti depressants and now ismaking herself ill with worry

    Does your daughter dispute she owes this money?

    You must be very careful with magistrate court fines as they should be treated as primary debts. However, single parents and those on benefits are considered to be in the 'vulnerable' category and as such should be treated accordingly. You should write and explain her situation to them (if you haven't done so already).

      no she does not dispute it but its gone up from£250 to nearly £500

        In the link I gave you earlier, there is a link for a Subject Access Request - send that letter to the bailiff, not forgetting to include the £10 statutory maximum fee.
