  • Claim For Parking Charge

Hi, I have received a Claim Form from the County Court Business Centre with the Claimant being CIVIL ENFORCEMENT LIMITED, HORTON HOUSE EXCHANGE FLAGS LIVERPOOL L2 3PF.
The claim is for parking in a private car park in breach of T+Cs that is purported to have occurred on 16/01/2016.
I have no recollection of any violation as this is two years back. The amount is for £276.50 (which can not be the parking fee) + Court Fee £25 + Legal Representative costs of £50.
I would like to understand my options to fully defend against this claim but have no idea how to go about it.

First thing is acknowledge the claim onliine using the details on the form. Do not put anything in the defence. This gives you 33 days from the issue date to get you defence to the court.

Can you post up the Particulars of claim please. Have you received any sort of previous paperwork from the, such as a letter Before Action giving you 30 days to respond?

Look up other defence statements for CEL on here and on the Pepipoo private parking forum. CEL have a habit of discontinuing when a good defence is submitted

Many thanks. I have submitted online. However "Defence" field is mandatory. Your recommendation was not to put anything on the defense. How does that work when it is mandated?
