  • Working less then contracted hours

    ive been took on permanently from a Christmas temp, but was took on a 14 hour contract but they are barely giving me 10 hours a week, is this legal?

    Hi Samdoyl3,

    I assume from your post they are only paying you for hours worked, so you're receiving approx. 10hrs not the 14 hrs you anticipated?
    It will be dependent on what your contract says. It may for example say you are paid 14 hrs so irrespective of the amount of hours you actually work you would get paid for 14, or the contract may state you get paid up to 14 hrs, which is a completely different thing and would mean you only get paid for the actual hours you work, up to a maximum of 14hrs.
    The contract wording is key here.
