  • OFT to publish report on bank charges 16th March 10.30am

    The OFT has informed us they will publish their latest report on bank charges on Tuesday 16 March at 10.30am.

    Legal Beagles has consulted with the OFT over the past few months and await the report.

    In October 2009, following the OFT's original consultation in 2008, Personal Current Account providers agreed with the OFT to:
    • provide monthly enhanced information
    • provide consumers with an annual summary of the cost of their Personal Current Accounts
    • provide information on average credit and average debit balances, and
    • provide illustrative unarranged overdraft scenarios

    At that time the test case and investigation into unarranged overdraft charges was still ongoing. Now this has concluded we expect this report to give the OFT's findings and recommendations for the future of PCA charging structures.

    Following a meeting with the OFT at the beginning of February, Legal Beagles entered a brief submission putting forwards YOUR views for consideration in the review of the PCA market. You can view our submissions below;
