On the old set up it was possible to reply to a PM above the original message.
Now it seems necessary to compose a response on a new page, which means flicking back and forth.
Or am I missing something?

Are you opening the message or just doing See More on your notification page? If you click on the title of the message, you can scroll down to the bottom of the message and there's a reply box there. Orrrrrrr if you open a message directly from notifications there's a kind of nifty instant message pop up box ? I'll do screenshots xxxx

Okay....

FIRSTLY the POP UP - If you click the ENVELOPE ICON it pops up and shows you your latest two PM's as well as gives you the link to the message centre. THUS ...



If you click on one of the message titles it opens a 'instant message' type thingy box ...

and you can reply at the bottom, and it stays open, like kind of, SKype, MSN etc ( it isn't actually instant messanger just PM's )

ORRR if you go into your actual Message Centre you see this with the REPLY button - don't click that ( although if you do it SHOULD just scroll you down the page?)



but scroll down and there should be the whole message 'conversation' thread there and then the reply box

Another question, if I am looking at the forums and click on a link to a thread I am taken to the first post and then have to scroll my way through the pages - ok on some but this one is at 8 pages now

Again, ok when on my laptop but a bit of a pain when I am on my phone

Tap in the double arrows takes you straight to last post.

The button to take you to the top of the page seems to have vanished. I have to say this new layout is taking tin to get used to on the phone.

my 16yr old told me that (on the PC) if you press "home" on the keyboard it scrolls back to the top of the page. Pressing "end" scrolls it down to the bottom.

it's only taken me 20+yrs to find out lol xx

I will put in the scroll to top button, for now though if you look at the top of a thread you should see a tab that says Latest Activity... if you click that it switches the thread over so the last post is first - other than the first post which stays at the top, so the latest post is the second post in essence ... if that makes sense. You can set it to appear that way as default in your user settings panel. Try it anyway.

That one I did know lol ... although my keyboard is missing the page down key (rarely used it anyway)
