  • Barclays VT - Letter should I sign Checklist

I wrote to Barclays to VT my car, they have responded back with a letter which I would need to clarify on some points as I am unsure what to do:-
    1. The letter states: In order to process voluntary terminatation you are required to pay 50% of the total amount payable on the loan agreement. The next sentence then says 'The total amount payable by you in order to vuluntarily terminate is 0.00
    2. Enclosed is a vehicle termination checklist form which asks for car details ie make model, color, V5 book, Exterior condition, interior condition. To respond to this their is option for Clean, Ave, Below with options to select Yes/No.
At the end of the checklist there is a declaration: I confirm that the above vehicle has been delivered to the location stated in the condition confirmed in this report. Two signatures are required: Customer (in this case its me) and the BPF Agent. Do I sign this checklist and return it back
    3. Enclosed is the Vehicle Terminatation which has a declaration that I understand I am liable for any repair costs incurred. I now understand from reading the forums that I dont have to sign but on the same form it has the option I need to select of Delivery of Vehicle wither deliver to Manheim Auctions or arrange for vehicle to be collected which incurs a fee of 150. Can I inform them by letter on which option I prefer for vehicle to be returned.

Thanks for your help in advance

No you don't sign their form, it is attempting to remove some of the protection you have. The have acknowledged your letter and therefor the agreement is now cancelled, the car is theirs and they have to handle it.

I believer that it is up to them to arrange collection, at no cost to you, and inspection but others will be along to advise.
