PCP VT with RCI finance.

Hello, I'm totally new here. I have read a few threads about VT'ing a PCP. I am about to start this process with RCI, although having read various things on here I am now worried it's going to be a total nightmare and not as easy as they have made out to me via email.
The car is in reasonable condition and is about 3000 miles over my allowance.
Does anyone have any tips to make this process as easy as possible? I'm not very good at things like this and don't want to make life harder for myself.
