PCN Notice Received x6 £600 total charge

Hi,

I'm writing this in the hope to get as much advice as possible regarding the following issue

I live in a flat with a private car park & private access road. I was not aware the road was private until the unfolding of recent events. My friend has regularly visited me has just received a total of 6 separate parking charge notices. These are for him parking on the access road outside the private car park. The reason for issue was no permit. There are several signs posted along the road that give warning of a parking charge. The reason they all arrived together is his car is a company car & recently realised his home address hadn't been updated to his most recent address.

We both accept the signs are clear as day to see & foolish not to have noticed them before. I am simply trying to find out if we are able to at least significantly reduce the amount being requested. £100 per offense & he has 6 of them. Obviously had he have been aware after receiving one of them he would have realised his error and not continued to park there & receive multiple charges.

You say this is a company car. Do the company lease the car from another company or is the company name on the V5?

What does your lease for the flat say about your and your visitors rights about parking.

The company lease the car. It's not owned by them.

I rent the flat. I receive a permit for my car and one for a guest which I assumed was to park in my numbered parking space as I wasn't aware of visitors parking or any restrictions to parking on the road. They possibly say in the letter that the permit came with but I have lived there for three years & so just stick the new permit on without reading the letter etc as this has not been an issue until now.
