  • parking notice from civil enforcement ltd

Hi I was wondering if someone can advise me on my current dilemma-. I made the mistake of parking on a private retail park between the hours of 17.34 and 20.48 on a Friday night. The first two hours are free and the third hour costs £2. As all the car parks in the area stop charging after 18.00 or 18.30 I presumed this was the case- if I had realised that charges still applied I would have moved my car to the council car park nearby. I have received a PCN through the post asking for £60 within fourteen days or £100 after this time. I appealed to Civil Enforcement and offered £20 (for the fourteen minutes I had gone over the two hours free parking) which they have rejected. They are now suggesting I appeal to POPLA.
My question is - is it worth appealing? Should I pay the £60 or should I just ignore all letters from now on?
I have never had a parking fine in my life and I always abide by parking rules- this was a genuine mistake.

    Personally i'd appeal to popla.

Can you scan up the PCN and post your appeal ? (suitably sanitised)

What is the popla deadline ?

Enclosed is the PCN and my original letter. I have admitted to being the driver. Is it still worth appealing?
          Thanks in advance

Please don't. I'll do the hard graft all you have to do is submit it. They'll want £100 now and if you lose at popla they'll still want £100. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I'd rather burn £100.
