• Parking Eye NTK /Permit Holders ?

Hi need some advise with regard to parking in a small car park next to a gym and local shops which has ANPR with Parking eye.

My sister is a member of a gym and has parked regularly in the same car park close by since joining last year, The gym has a system whereby you log your car details into their in-house system so they know the cars are users of the gym, on one particular day she was momentarily distracted and inadvertently transposed the last 2 digits of her number plate, so mentioned it at reception but was told it would be fine.

The following week she received a NTK from PE for parking in a permit area ? she went back to the gym and was told they would correspond with PE and kept the letter.
She has now received a reminder saying as of today the charge increases to £100.
She has once again gone back to the gym who are now saying that the particular car park is permit holders but to totally ignore any further letter from PE as it is something they see regularly.

I don't think she should ignore but am hoping you guys can advise ? firstly should she put in appeal today before the amount increases ? She's unsure whether the incorrect number being entered has triggered this or the fact that it is permits and for all the months preceding this she has been lucky as has never been issued a ticket, but ANPR has been there all that time so would seem odd.
Thankyou

You do NOT ignore PE. Go back to the gym and demand that they cancel it, and your sister should be on of the email.

Thankyou for you reply ostell I shall tell her to do that , in the meantime should she go online and appeal as the amount apparently goes up after today the 8th .

It would seem that charge has already increased, the intention is that she does not pay anything. What is she going to appeal about? The fact that two digits were transposed means nothing to PE, they want their money. The danger is that she might identify the driver.

Hi ostell no the letter says it increases if not paid today 8th , so I thought if it was acknowledged as disputed it would prevent that rising to £100 , she is waiting for the manager of the gym to get back to her but is concerned if they don't today she's worried that by tomorrow if they can't help then she's a lot worse off.
