  • Penalty Charge Notice

    Hello
I was issued with a PCN on January 3rd which I contested on January 10th. I never heard anything back from them officially until today. Is there a time limit when contesting a PCN for the council to contact you with a response and if they are out of this time limit is the ticket voided?
NB I had called the council twice during this period to make sure they had received my email contesting the ticket as no correspondence was forthcoming saying that had received anything from me.
    Thanks

I recall that there is no statutory time limit in which the council must reply to an informal challenge/appeal but a 56 day statutory time limit for response to formal appeal following service of a Notice to Owner.
