  • Council benefit/self employed earnings help

Can someone throw anylight on this for me, my council tax benefit and housing benefit, are worked out taking my earnings into account.

i estimated for the year 2014/2015 that my earnings would amount to an average of £60 per week, my actual earnings for the year worked out at just under £14.00 per week,

i am now being told that my earnings cannot be adjusted, , which from my understanding i am legally bound to ensure that i update change of circumtances when they happen,
which i do, but i am struggling to understand why my earnings are not being adjusted back to the start of the 14/15 tax year with the actual figures for that year.

Financially we are in an hole but are climbing out of it slowly, we have a payment plan in place to sort out our council tax arrears, but with the dating of my earnings,
i beleive would reduce my outstanding council tax bill.
