I currently receive discount for living alone
if I have a long term student who is doing a year language english course
does that mean I have to give up the discount
i think students do not pay council tax
anybody know the ruling my local council website is NAF!

Students don't count for council tax purposes, so you will still be treated as single and get the 25% discount.

The student however has to be on a full time course (at least 21 hours of study / tuitions a week for at least 24 weeks of the year) at a recognised institution (university, college, includes Erasmus language colleges). Student will normally have to get a letter from institution saying this.
