    Hi l have been in my massionette flat for 20years
    I have been paying band B... my mum and dad stay in same building and the same type of house and they have been paying band A.. north Lanarkshire council wont help me.

          Hi, all the links given are superb, so I can only add my own experience. Having lived in central London and always believed I was paying to much. I researched house prices in my area and appealed, I got it dropped 1 band. That was 3 years ago and I now feel it should have gone down 2 bands. Good luck as you can win this by doing the research.

            Beware Wales' post though, and make sure you do do your research. It could be that your parents are paying too little, and I'm sure you wouldn't want to drop them in it! :beagle:

              Find out what the other adjacent properties or the flats contained in them are valued there may be a greater anomaly to base your claim on, if a significant number are in the lower band, if not it may end up with the odd one out being put in a higher band, to their detriment.
