  • Consent order, poss negligence and buying out

    Newbie here.
my ex left former marital home where I still live. Ex hasn’t paid towards mortgage for 5 years.
Consent order for sale of house, split proceeds equally.
I believe I have received terrible advice from my solicitor - I was advised to sign the consent order as it stood despite having voiced my concerns about the fact I was paying all the mortgage (£1300pcm) and the order did not provide for credit to be given to me for this when the house sells.
this means I am effectively handing over £30k to my ex who left me and the marital home to start a new relationship despite me begging for ex to stay.
ex has turned down my offer to buy out their share of the property.
can I lodge a complaint with the law society? I think my solicitor should have protected my financial interests in the consent order before advising me to sign.
