Should a solicitor be advising his client to not to go to mediation?
I should point out there is no Domestic Violence involved in the breakup of the marriage, but the Ex says their solicitor has told them they don't have to go to mediation.

The Solicitor can advise that and your ex is entitled to refuse to attend.

My Ex when I raised this said they asked their Solicitor about this and was told it was not a good move as they would not get as good a financial settlement if they did.

And of course if the matter is settled by mediation there will be no long drawn out disputes to allow the solicitor to rack up his costs!

My thoughts precisely and indeed in better times when we still spoke something I had pointed out to my Ex, but seems she is more concerned about pumping up his latest Porsche Fund
