  • Is employment advice and legal advice the same thing?

If an employer went to an employment consultancy firm for advice on how to deal with an employee disciplinary issue, they would be given employment advice but, would it also be classed as legal advice?

IMO probably not giving out legal advice but legal information.

Can we ask what has sparked this query?
Was someone given incorrect information which has led to a loss or a problem?
If so this may be a professional indemnity situation

Yes, but do note the site rules only allow for this in sensitive situations.
This is for everyone's protection, and you will get more assistance on open forum.
However anything said in confidence will be kept that way.

Thanks for the reply. The PM is just to give the reason for the question.
