  • Comitted gross misconduct pls help

I have been told that I have committed gross misconduct. The background is that I am working on a project and there was a specfic way i needed to secure approval from my manager. I misread the procedure so I got approval but it was not in the correct format. An audit 2 months later uncovered this and as a result i have been found guilt of gross misconduct.
I accept I made a mistake but it was an honest mistake and i didn't do it on purpose.

Is there anything else i can do? I know that i won't get another job because of this. can someone please help.

I know nothing about Employment Law, but I can Google, and these may be of some support until someone more knowledgeable comes along. I know one handbook is aged, but I suspect much is still very relevant:

Hi noddy, & welcome to Legal Beagles.

Are you directly employed by the company?

How long have you worked for them?

Have you received a contract of employment, or a statement of employment particulars?
If so, does it outline the company disciplinary procedures & give examples of gross misconduct?

Were you given a written request to attend a disciplinary meeting?
If so, were you advised of your right to have a suitable companion present?
Were you given a written decision of the outcome & reasons?
Who undertook the meeting? (Position in the company)
