I am in a legal dispute at work and my ex employers solicitor contacted me at 16:55 on Fri evening to say that as I haven’t been compliant with their requests they are going to have to take me to court. Previously I had a threatening email at 17:00 on Easter Thurs. Are solicitors allowed to threaten over the phone? The email prior to bank holiday was bad enough!
    thanks in advance

Usually they don't as they like to evidence everything. I suppose they can contact you to tell you via telephone as long as the call remains professional.

If you no longer wish to communicate with them via telephone, email and tell them. State in the letter that you would consider any future to be in breach of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.

If you have an iPhone google how to record your screen and if they phone again activate that before answering, you'll then have evidence of the breach.

What were their requests and when/how did they communicate those to you, and did they state a consequence of non compliance ( in their view) would result in court action ? ( and did you comply ?)
