If it is a Compromise Agreement then you are legally bound to consult a solicitor at your companies expense,Sorry i'm just thinking out loud, it might be irrelevant, I am not employed in anyway in the legal profession, please ensure you research any advice I give before using it I have been known to be wrong on multiple occasions.

What is offered as part of a Settlement Agreement (SA), formerly a Compromise Agreement, does partly depend on the circumstances and the reasons it has come about. Remember signing an S.A. precludes you from bringing an Employment Tribunal claim. Although the company will try to negotiate a figure with you an S.A. is not agreed until you have taken independent legal advice - which the company should contribute towards the cost of - and if the solicitor does not feel the sum is reflective of the issues then they can raise this with the company.
Also as part of the S.A. ensure you agree a reference which the company will then be obligated to use in the event a future employer asks them for a reference. If you would like a one-to-one expert consultation with me on your employment issue than I can be contacted by emailing admin@legalbeaglesgroup.com
I do my best to provide good practical advice, however I do so without liability.
If you have any doubts then do please seek professional legal advice.
