Just to warn everyone about a scam doing the rounds.
I was contacted recently by someone claiming to represent the Accident Investigation Bureau (not be to be confused with a real and legitimate business of the same name based near Canary Wharf, London), asking about an accident I had in the last two years.
They started asking for personal and bank details. I didn't disclose any of these, which peed off the person on the other of the line no end, and when I asked why they were calling an ex-directory number, I got a mouthful of abuse including the f-word. Then I told them I hadn't had an accident in the last two years. That's when they slammed the phone down.
If any of you are cold-called by these parasites, DO NOT give them any personal or bank details and report the call to Consumer Direct on 0845 4040506 asap.
