  • Has anybody got a Dyson DC05 tucked away?.....

Dyson have written to me to let me know that a dco5 which I bought in 2000 & what they stopped manufacturing in 2005 has a safety issue.

They say that the issue can be rectified.... If you call their helpline, they'll send you out a part.

However, they are also offering DC05 customers the chance to upgrade to a DC23 animal (£299.99 on their site) for £85 & their old machine.

I've found my dco5 in the garage.... its broke & battered & I have chose to swap it for a new model. They are going to deliver it & pick up my old one next friday. (All Ive had to do is put it in a bin liner.)

I thought I'd put a post on here in case there is anyone out there with one but who wasn't registered with dyson.

    The helpline number is 0800 954 0151.
    They're open 7am-10pm every day.
Be warned, it might take a while to get through because the lady told me that everybody is ringing for an upgrade.

Just to update you, everything went smoothly & I got my new machine.

If anybody has 1, its quite a good deal

Nice one Shas, too late for me though I dumped my DC05 ages ago.

I bought a Dyson ball a couple of months ago, excellent.

Ooooo just as an aside apparently you can have your Dyson serviced for around £60 and they replace practically everything, my friend says hers is more or less brand new again, she has hers done yearly.

Oh, I wonder whether they do these on older, say 4 year old machines. Will have to look into this, thanks Saffy!
