  • Case Summary

    Hi,

I need to produce a case summary!

Does anyone know of where I can get an example so I have some ideas of what one looks like.

    Thanks
    Tony

              Re: Case Summary

Okay good. I'm not convinced that template Des posted is a case summary - it seems very much like a witness statement to me - are you preparing for a case managemnet hearing or have you specifically been ordered to write a case summary ?

If you are prepping for a CM hearing then the case summary prepped by the claimant needs to be as brief as possible - less than 500 words if possible - and you are sending it to the other side for agreement before submitting to court ?

It should contain any argument only agreed facts and issues in dispute as it is purely to help the judge with the case management.

              eg.

IN THE COUNTY COURT AT xxxxxxxxxxxx
              B E T W E E N:-

              xxxxxxxxxxxx
              xxxxxxxxxxx
              Claimants
              And
              xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
              Defendant

Case Summary for the purpose of the Case Management Hearing to be held on the xxxxxxxxx 2015

              Chronology of Proceedings
              Claim Form 21st January 2014
Acknowledgement of Service xx February 2014
              Defence xx February 2014
              Allocation questionnaires xx March 2014
Case Management Hearing 8th August 2014
Amended Particulars of Claim 1st September 2014
Application Notice to add Claimant 1st September 2014

              Issues of Fact
1: points that are agreed on
              2:
              3:

              Issues in Dispute
1: Was there a contract between the Claimant/s and the Defendant ?
2: What sum was paid to the Defendant for the work undertaken ?

Evidence Required to Deal with the Disputed Issues
              from the Claimant

              from the Defendant

              Agreed between the Parties

                Re: Case Summary

I am preparing it for a case management conference.

                The above is very helpful.

Plus, the defendant will be getting it to approve.

                    Re: Case Summary

Can I also ask if a case summary ended with a statement of truth?

                    Thanks.
